A promise of a dramatic percentage gain is not evidence that it can occur. Start with questions whose answers can be checked in the project’s documents and actual service terms. This guide identifies gaps in understanding rather than producing a buy list or a guaranteed winner.
A checklist cannot eliminate losses or determine a suitable investment for every person.
BTKWIN.COM · EDUCATIONAL EXAMPLE1. What problem does the project address?
Read the original documentation and identify a product that can actually be used. Describe the intended user, task and reason for a separate token. A large audience or persuasive slogan does not answer those questions.
Separate a roadmap from implemented capability. A test, launch and sustained use are different stages. The adoption guide explains how to preserve the stage and metric definition.
Do not assume a useful application guarantees a valuable token. Read how use connects to the asset and what rights holders receive. Technical functionality and investment return require different evidence.
2. Who develops it and controls changes?
Identify maintainers or organisations where disclosed and inspect relevant official work. A polished biography is not proof that every claimed capability exists. Read release information and the current implementation.
Check privileged roles, upgrade powers, pause functions and other controls that matter to users. A decentralised label does not supply their limits. Record who can exercise each power and what safeguards are documented.
If a security review is advertised, read its scope, date and version. A review does not guarantee every later component, interface or economic assumption. Keep the evidence attached to what was actually examined.
3. How is supply distributed and released?
Read circulating, total and maximum definitions with dates. Review allocations and any vesting or unlock schedule. A token’s low unit price can be incomplete when other units exist or may become available later.
For an invented asset at 0.10 dollars with 1 billion counted units, circulating valuation is 100 million dollars. Another at 10 dollars with 1 million units has a 10-million-dollar valuation. The lower unit price did not mean a smaller total valuation.
The supply and unlock guide explains denominators and release conditions. Do not turn an unlock into a guaranteed sale or assume that availability has no relevance.
4. Can the intended amount be sold?
Inspect venue, pair, bid/ask direction, depth, fees and limits for a stated quantity. A listing and a headline market value do not guarantee an available exit. Historical volume is not the same as current liquidity.
Consider stressed execution rather than only a quiet snapshot. Orders can change, spreads can widen and routes can be restricted. A limit can protect a price boundary while leaving exposure unfilled.
The liquidity guide separates reference price, weighted fills and costs. A chart’s last trade should not be treated as unlimited execution for every holder.
5. Where are assets held and who controls them?
Distinguish a custodial account from a wallet whose signing information you manage. Read withdrawals and asset-use terms. A convenient interface and a protected login do not answer every custody question.
Prepare the actual recovery method before relying on the setup. A provider’s account reset and self-custody recovery require different information. Do not share secrets with a person offering to choose or manage the asset for you.
The wallet type helper organises network, device, use and recovery questions without connecting to funds. Its comparison is educational, not a safety certification.
6. What evidence would change the view?
Write the assumptions and contrary cases before the outcome. Examples can include stopped development, changed token use, an unresolved security issue or a service restriction. Holding the asset does not make contrary evidence irrelevant.
Use primary sources and preserve dates. A repeated headline can originate from one unverified report. The news guide separates completed facts, proposed events and interpretations.
Keep a record of updates without silently rewriting the original reason. If no possible evidence could change the conclusion, the process is difficult to distinguish from defending a prior commitment.
7. Do you understand the possible loss?
Model a substantial decline, unavailable withdrawal and recovery problem rather than only a gain. Use cash amounts as well as percentages. A hypothetical 1,000 falling 60% leaves 400 before costs; regaining 1,000 would require a 150% increase from that remainder.
These numbers illustrate scale, not likelihood or a forecast. Read the risk framework for price, access and exit distinctions. A strong answer about technology does not remove financial loss.
Be wary when an urgent recommendation requires sending assets to a personal address, granting remote access or paying to release supposed earnings. Verify the service and action independently. A plausible project story does not authenticate the recipient.
Use the answers without inventing a ranking
| Research field | What to save |
|---|---|
| Purpose | User, task and implemented product |
| Control | Maintainers and privileged powers |
| Supply | Definitions, allocation and release rules |
| Liquidity | Quantity, venue and executable assumptions |
| Custody | Access and recovery arrangement |
| Contrary evidence | Conditions that challenge the view |
| Loss | Cash exposure and adverse cases |
Add a source link, date and unresolved note to each row. Unknown is a useful answer when evidence is missing. Do not convert it into a positive score just to complete the table.
A checklist reveals what needs understanding; it does not automatically choose the best coin. Keep personal constraints, service eligibility and costs in the review. A reasonable outcome can be to stop or postpone when the asset, right or route cannot be explained.
Growth promises are easy to repeat, while evidence takes work to inspect. Use the questions to make that work concrete without claiming that research guarantees success or that an earlier asset’s history will repeat for a new one.
Check the meaning of a dramatic percentage
A hypothetical gain of 3,700% on 100 would mean 3,700 of profit and a final value of 3,800 before costs, or 38 times the starting amount. Explaining that arithmetic does not establish that the gain is possible or likely for a token.
Ask what supply, valuation, timing and execution assumptions the claim requires. A precise percentage can still be an unsupported promise if those assumptions have no evidence. Do not treat the number’s apparent precision as a substitute for answering the seven questions.
