Crypto identity verification: questions about your personal data

An identity request should be assessed through the actual service, recipient and documented process. Do not upload personal documents in response to an unverified private message. Before submitting, identify who collects the data, why it is needed and which account feature the check concerns.

Identify the account and legal recipient

Start with the operator in your applicable service agreement. A familiar brand can use different entities and verification providers. Read which entity receives the information and how any external provider is described. A company name in an email signature is not sufficient verification.

Record the product and account you are opening or reviewing. A request for an ordinary service account differs from creating a self-custody wallet. The network itself does not operate one central identity-upload form. The account requirements guide explains those distinctions.

If the request concerns an existing account, open that account through a known route and check whether the request appears there. Do not use the message’s link as both the claim and its confirmation. Independent access is particularly important when the message threatens immediate suspension.

Read the stated purpose and required fields

Find the current instructions for your product and location. Requirements can differ, so avoid assuming that another user’s list or an old tutorial defines your process. Identify the information explicitly requested and what stage it supports.

If a field seems unrelated to the documented task, seek an explanation through official support. Do not provide additional documents merely because an unofficial helper says more information will speed the review. Extra disclosure can create risk without resolving the actual requirement.

Use accurate information. This guide does not suggest bypassing eligibility or identity controls. If you cannot satisfy a requirement, use the provider’s documented alternative or review procedure rather than submitting invented information or paying someone who promises a guaranteed approval.

Inspect the collection channel

Check the full domain, application identity and route from the provider’s official interface. A third-party verification provider can be legitimate, but the relationship should be established through the service’s documentation. Do not infer it solely from a copied logo.

Be careful with separate email attachments, private chats or forms that arrived unexpectedly. A professional layout does not establish that the recipient is authorised. The login security guide explains domain and independent-access checks.

Keep wallet recovery information out of the process. A private key or phrase can authorise spending and is not an ordinary identity document. A platform’s identity review does not require access to a separate self-custody wallet’s signing secrets.

Read privacy terms as operational information

Look for the provider’s description of collection, use, retention, sharing and security. Identify the contact route for questions. Do not assume that a short privacy badge tells you how every uploaded document will be handled.

Read any stated use of external processors or cross-service handling in the relevant policy. This is a review question, not a conclusion that a particular practice is lawful or unlawful. Applicable rights and obligations depend on the actual facts and jurisdiction.

If retention or deletion matters to your decision, inspect the policy’s explanation and any applicable official guidance. An account closure does not automatically establish that all records are deleted immediately. Do not make a deletion promise based only on a general close-account button.

Protect the access path around the documents

Secure the linked email, password and supported additional verification method. Identity approval does not prevent account takeover through a weak login or compromised email. Understand the official recovery process before funding the account.

Do not send verification codes to someone claiming to complete a document check for you. Read what each prompt authorises. A request to approve a login you did not initiate is a different action from uploading identity evidence.

Keep devices and software maintained. Avoid installing unknown verification tools through a private message. If the official process requires a particular application, verify its identity and permissions through the documented distribution channel rather than accepting an unsolicited download.

Record status without duplicating sensitive material

Unresolved questionAvoid guessing the outcome

Keep a concise record of the process without unnecessarily copying documents into multiple notes, chats or devices. Store any retained sensitive material according to its sensitivity and your actual need. A support timeline normally does not need full document numbers in every entry.

An email confirmation, document submission and completed verification are different events. A pending review is not proof of approval or rejection. Preserve exact status wording and inspect the official next step rather than interpreting a generic progress icon as a final decision.

Handle rejected or repeated requests carefully

If the official service rejects a document, inspect the stated reason and supported resubmission procedure. Do not assume repeated uploads to new links are necessary. Verify whether the request comes from the same documented process.

Ask a focused question about the unresolved requirement. A response explaining image quality differs from a request for a different document type or account information. Preserve the answer and its date so follow-up does not lose the original issue.

If an unknown person offers to bypass verification for a fee, do not treat that as authorised support. A service’s security process is not resolved by transferring money to a personal address or granting remote control of a wallet.

Know what approval does not establish

Approval of identity checks does not guarantee service reliability, investment returns, unrestricted withdrawals or permission for every product. Review the actual account features and terms before funding. The platform verification guide covers those separate questions.

Finish with a clear understanding of recipient, channel, purpose, privacy explanation and account status. If an important answer remains missing, pause the disclosure rather than assuming a reassuring interpretation. This guide organises questions about the process; individual legal or data-rights issues require the relevant official context.

Preserve the distinction between process and rights

A status label describes the provider’s workflow. It does not settle every privacy or legal question about the submitted information.
